这个我知道为什么错,但是那个thereby之后能跟一个独立句子了吧?但为不是用makes而是用making?还有那个safer是更安全的意思啊,但为什么不是is safer?

thereby 是一个介词 就像 therefore 一样,介词 adv后面一定要接ing的动名词 gerund
不能用 is safer 因为 这个句子是在讲 The light is very effective thereby making driving at night safer.注意到后面making 已经是一个动词了,要是加上is那这个从句就有两个动词了
而这里 safer是做一个形容词在用
