No one is sure when the idea of April Fool's Day really started,but some people think it might have been more than 400 years ago ,when the calendar was changed in Europe ,and New Year's Day moved from 1 April to 1 January.There weren't any phones or computers in those days,so the news about the new calender travelled slowly.Many people didn't know about the change and others didn't agree with the idea of changing the calendar.They became known as 'April fools'.Other people played thicks on them and the idea stayed.
