Comment on the mentality of the characters – Mr.and Mrs.Bennet,and their daughter Lizzy ,by analyzing their behavior in the conversation.（《傲慢与偏见》）
“O Mr.Bennet,you are wanted immediately; we are all in an yproar.You must come and make Lizzy marry Mr.Colllins,for she vows asher will not have him ,and if you do not make haste,he will change his mind and not have her…”
“I have not the pleasure of understanding you,” said he ,when she had finished her speech.“Of what are you talking?”
“Of Mr.Collins and Lizzy.Lizzy declares sher will not have Mr.Collins,and Mr.Collins begins to say that he will not have Lizzy.”
“And what am I to do on the occasion?...It seems a hopeless business”
“Speak to Lizzy about it yourself.Tell her that you insist upon her marrying him.”
Mr.Bennet rang the bell,and Miss Elizabeth was summoned to the library.“ Come here,child,” cried her father as she appeared.“ I have senta for you on an arrair of importance.I understand that Mr.Collins has made you an offer of marriage.Is it true?”
Elizabeth replied that it was.
“ Very well— and this offer of marriage you have refused?”
“ I have ,sir.”
“ Very well.We come to the poinat.Your mother insists upon your accepting it.Is it not so,Mrs.Bennet?”
“ Yes,or I will never see her again.”
“ An unhappy alternative is before you,Elizabeth .From this day you must be stranger to one of your parents .Your mother will never see you again if you do not marry Mr.Collins,and I will never see you again if you do.”

From Mrs. Bennet's words "immediately", "must" etc. we see that she is a frivolous, excitable woman. And she asked Mr. Bennet to force Lizzy to marry Mr. Collins which indicate that she is a woman of mean understanding.
On the other side, Mr. Bennet dislikes the frivolity of his wife. He said he has not the pleasure of understanding Her.
Mr. Bennet is so odd a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, and caprice. And he is close to his daughter Lizzy. So he stand on the side of Lizzy by giving her "an unhappy alternative".
Lizzy is intelligent, lively and from her vows" asher will not have him " we can see that she is so decisive. We can also tell that Lizzy is close to her father rather than her mother.

补充：Actually Mrs. Bennet is a very interesting woman, she is easy to get nervous, From the words she said to Mr. Bennet we can see how nervous when she heard that Lizzy won't marry Mr. Collins.
And what we should pay attention is when Mrs. Bennet ask Mr. Bennet to talk to Lizzy, he doesn't refuse his wife directly, he called Lizzy to his library. But instead of making Lizzy marry Mr. Collins, he ask her not to. And that "unhappy alternative" he provided to Lizzy shows he is really an odd father.
What's more about Lizzy as we can tell from this conversation is that Lizzy is not an ordinary girl, she has her own independent thoughts and she won't let her Mom make her do what she doesn't want to do.
