The issue of whether it is more important to keep your old friends than it is to make new friends is a popular question today.Many people argue that making old friends is more important,but different people have different idea.To my way of thinking,I prefer to make new friends rather than keep old friends.Here are my reasons.
To begin with,I think making new friends can promote us to learn more about the tradition of other places.As we all know,our friends come from different places,the result is that they may accept varied culture which is different from ours.Consequently,new friends can help improving our knowledge from all over the world.For example,I have a French friend,and I always send e-mail to him.In the e-mail,he share the information ofFrance with me.It is really refresh and excited for me to get the information.Also,it promotes me to learn more about the culture of other places.
In addition,compared with keeping old friend,I think making new friends can expand our social relationship circle.That means we may have more opportunity than others.As we all know,to live in the human society,we need more chances.As a matter of fact,the key to be successful is to get more chance.It is important for us to get more opportunity,so it means we need more new friends to help us.For example,my father has made a big success in his job.One of the major reasons is that he made a lot of new friends and most of them are successful and willing to help him.As the result,they help my father to climb to the summit!
Eventually,I think keeping old friends also has some advantages.For example,we will have many close friends,when we are upset,they bring us happiness.But we can’t just always stay with our old friends.We must walk out of our comfort zone.So I think making new friends is more important than keeping old friends.
In conclusion,I would like make new friends rather than keep old friends.Moreover,in my opinion,making new friends can bring more benefits to us.So I support the question that it is more important to keep our old friends than it is to make new friends.
