 Here is a list of the strangest things sent into space by man.

Lamb chop curry (咖喱羊排)

   Using a weather balloon novelist Nikesh Shukla attempted to send the curried meat to a place where none had gone before. He launched the meat expecting a quick return to Earth. However the food vanished(消失). Where was it ? Nobody knew. Shukla was ready to give up hope of finding his meat when it turned up five months later carrying pictures of its journey into space.

Teddy bears

   The world’s first ever teddy space flight was launched from Churchill college in Cambridge in 2008. The toys named MAT and KMS wore space suits and travelled to more than 18 miles above the Earth in the four-hour expedition.

   After completing their mission the pair made a soft landing (软着陆) in a place just 50 miles from their launch site.

Family photo

   When Apollo 16 astronaut Charles Duke landed on the Moon he didn’t just leave footprints but a photograph of his family.

   On 23 April 1972 when Charles Duke embarked on a mission to explore the Moon he left a photograph of himself with his wife and their two sons Thomas and Charles sitting on a bench. It remains there until today.

   The reverse(反面) of the photo is signed by Duke’s family and bears the message: “This is the family of Astronaut Duke from Planet Earth. Landed on the Moon April 1972.”

Hamburger

   In 2012 five Harvard students launched a hamburger to 98 425 feet above the Earth. It descended back to the Earth and landed high up in a tree 130 miles away from the launch site. The students tried --- and failed --- to shoot the burger down with a bow and arrow so they had to wait for a storm to knock it free a few days later.
