"A bad beginning makes a bad ending" means that if you don't start doing something very well, you won't achieve what you want at last. People always say this when they advise the others to start a good beginning. First of all, if a child makes a study plan, but he cannot keep doing things on the plan, his parent will say "a bad beginning makes a bad ending" to him, because they want to encourage their kid to go on his studies. Secondly, if an employee doesn't start his speech very well at a meeting, his supervisor will probably ask him to do it again. Because when he just has a bad beginning, his speech will be no more good. I think it's very important to start things well, because there is another saying which you must have heard of named "a good beginning is half done". So I think we should try our best to make great beginnings.
