Bayes' theorem (or Bayes' rule) is an important theorem in probabilistic inferences in statistics.The idea of finding posterior probability through the use of prior probability was subsequently developed by Thomas Bayes into the Bayesian school,which is one of the major streams of thought in probabilistic statistics.The Bayesian school holds a unique view on probabilistic statistics and handles problems in a unique way.It has therefore gained a wide application.This article gives a brief introduction to the Bayes theorem,which is followed by a discussion on its main fields of application.
