Senior high school students in our Province are having a new course called General Technology.
The course, which has been introduced to all Senior 2 students in the province, aims to teach pupils basic technical skills and improve their designing abilities.
The course requires students to use various types of common tools saf ely. Some basic life skills, such as repairing or washing clothes, are also included in the lectures. However, more importantly they are expected to be able to design and make an item that is useful in their lives. They also have to attend a written test for the course before graduation.
As it’s totally different from those traditional courses, the course is very popular with students. They enjoy it mainly because the course is closely related to everyday life.
