很荣幸您给###这样的机会,他也很珍惜这次比赛,之前准备了很久,可是天有不测风云,半个月以前的一次交通事故让他至今住院,因伤到手部,出院后仍需休养一段时间.很抱歉无法参加贵活动,但希望明年他还能得到您的认可再次前往.

I'm **'s father, my son was hospitalized for his injury since 2 weeks ago. So I send this mail on behalf of him.
It is his honor to have the chance to take part in the contest, and he also cherish this oppturnity and get well prepared for it. Unfortunately,a traffic accident 2 weeks ago made him hospitalized, since his hands was hurt, he need an additional week for recovery after he leave hospital.
Terribly sorry that he is unable to have the race, and I hope he will get another chance to take part in the contest again next year. Thanks.
