obviously family and friends are the most important relationship in your life. They support you and motivate you, they make you feel warm and loved. I think it is very neccessary to discuss with them when you have a to work in another place for a while. Although they loved you so much, and of course dont want you to leave, they will think objectively, they will think at the bright side --- it is a good chance for you, and they want to make you feel their support. If you ask other person the same question, they wouldnt care this much, because they are not your family or friends.
