There be 后面接名词.如果there is 后面加 可数名词的单数或是不可数名词；如果是 there are 后面接可数名词复数.注意there be句型后的可数名词不可以直接接,那个可数名词必须有所修饰.比如说,There is a book on the table.而不可以说成是There is book on the table .而复数形式时,正确的说法是There are some books on the table.或者有具体的个数修饰,比如There are three books on the table.不不可以说成是There are books on the table.
A 选项carrots是复数前面又加定冠词the,这种情况用于表示强调.比如 These are the carrots (注意这里是These,而不是there)表示这些就是那些（之前强调过的）胡萝卜了.
B选项,carrots,只是胡萝卜的一般复数形式,不表示强调,也不能直接用在 there be 句型中（参见前面讲得）
