【1】用than的
U are a better singer than me, but I am taller and stronger than you.
Because you are shorter and weaker, I am a better runner than you.(这里的前半句就没有用到than)
He always tried to help those people who are less fortunate than him.
【2】不用than的
Kong Rong gave the bigger of the two pears to his brother.
The taller man is the president of the school and the shorter is a teacher.
一些拉丁语的形容词inferior,prior,superior,senior,junior(我暂时之想到这么多,不知道这类词是不是都是ior结尾的,应该是的.）后面不能接than的,一般接to.
举个简单的例子,I am several years junior to you.
