“龙”（dragon）在西方是贬义词,是邪恶的象征.在英美的很多词典中,对dragon的定义是：一种想象中的特别凶残的动物,像只巨大的蜥蜴,长着翅膀和利爪,拖着一条长长的蛇尾,嘴能喷火.在圣经故事中,dragon是罪恶的化身,人们把与上帝（the God）作对的恶魔撒旦（Satan）称为“大龙”（the great dragon）,基督圣徒还把杀死龙作为荣耀,引以为豪.
