But he was stopped by his cousin Kate. She said it was forbidden. She showed him some picture posters and explained that setting off fireworks might cause pollution and big fires. Sometimes it might even injure people seriously. At first Tom wondered why he couldn't enjoy the fireworks for it was the traditional custom. Having learned this Tom changed his mind. I prefer to the idea that setting off fireworks really should be forbidden.
