Creativity and Basic knowledge which is more important?

I think Creativity is more important,because if you only learn from your teacher,which is only learning the basic knowledge stuff,you will never go any further than your teacher,therefore you are just repeating what others have already done,and you will never improve,people are supposed to be creativity,that why we are different from other living things.
