Dear Mike，

    I’m writing on behalf of the student union to invite you to join us for a party on January 22 for the coming Lantern Festival.

    It is a traditional Chinese festival which falls on the 15^th of the first month of lunar calendar. The party is going to take place in Iron Square from 7:00 pm to 9:00pm during which time we will admire beautiful lanterns of various shapes and sizes eat delicious sweet dumplings and guess lantern riddles.

    It will be a great pleasure if you could come and have fun with us. Not only will you learn more about traditional Chinese culture but also you can have a wonderful time. If you’d like to participate please let me know at your earliest convenience.
