Regional economic integration is an essential stage towards the "world economic integration" in the future.Therefore,many regions have joined the rank of regional economic integration.Because of locational difference,the conditions of development are also varied.Thus,many types of regional economic cooperation models have been produced.Through contrasting the traditional conservative regional economic cooperation model of the North America Free Trade Area and the open regional economic cooperation model of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area,this text briefly states their features,basic situation of development,as well as explain the reasons of the difference of the two economic cooperation models,and hence result in our own view of these two economic cooperation models.
