Dear Mr CHEN,
Refer to our Project-Flavours. Please note some fine points, which I would like your attention-
1) In India, we have a very strong customer base through our dealers and expect to sell around 2-3 mt of confectionery flavours per month to start with. Later, once bigger customer comes in our fold, we expect to hit volumes of around 5 mt/month in about 6 months time.
2) The confectionery flavours in India are sold at around 14-20 USD per kg.
3) Now , the import duty is around 34% and overall cost to factory is around 36-38% of the basic price.
4) The dealer worksnormally on 15-20 % margins, and also sheds around 5-10 % of cost to customers.
5) IF we would like to work on a minimal margin of around 20%, since the amount return cycle in India is normallyn 60 days.
Now you can see the landed cost of flavours to customers. the price quote given overshoots the above formula and hence difficult to enter this market.
Please confirm or suggest any other methods which we can work out to get this big market.
