today I want to talk about english.english has 3 develop procedures:Old English,Middle English and Modern english.Compare with the modern one,old english has less loanwords but more derivational affixes.However,85% of old words do not use anymore.during middle english history,about 10 thousand loanwords were brought in by Norseman and had a crutial development in english's history.modern english become standardization,immobilized and normalization because of the broaden of reading materials' number and scale.
english is consist by prefix,root and suffix.roots are mostly derived from latin,and it determine the word's meaning.prefix can change the sense of a word,like dis-,un-,turn a positive word to a negative one.suffix is the key of part of speech.with -tion or -sion,an adj can be a noun ,for instance.To remember a word easily,just remember the root can string a series of words together.with this method,recall th prefix and suffix can recacll the whole series of word.
