In your letteryou mentioned that you want to know what kind of students is preferred byChinese University,I believe there would be three main points.
First is your language ability.Because you will come to anew environment,everything here is new to you,you have to speakdifferent language,talk to native people,most of your classmates and teacherwill talk with you in Chinese.So,Language is the most important issue.You have to practice your Chinese spoken and written skills as much asyou can before you come to China.You will benefit yourself when you applyChinese Universities if your Chinese language skill is good enough.
Adaptableability to a new culture is the second point.After come to China you will seeeverything here is different to the U.S.We eat different food,enjoy differententertainments,pursue different fashions and stars; even the style we areliving,the way we make friends,as well as the pattern we study are totallydifferent .If you can get used to the new world in a very short time,it willbe very helpful.
Finally,your hobbies are very important too.It's same as the United States;there are many associations in Chinese universities.You can apply anyassociation according to your hobbies.You will make a lot of friends and learnmany things there.Our country is regarding those associations as veryimportant,because students can increase their cooperative and communicativeability during many projects,they can also learn many knowledge beyond theirmajor field.
