Shocking News
A horrible accident hit Chengdu,Xichuan Province,southwest China.On the morning of June 5th,a No.9 bus was running in the street in Chengdong as usual,when suddenly it caught fire.There were over 100 passengers on the bus,the exits to the bus could not open in time and there was no hammer for emergence on that bus,25 people were burnt to death and the rest were injured seriously.Some minutes later the firemen together with the ambulance arrived at the scene.The fire lasted for around 20 minutes and was then put out.The injured were sent to hospital immediately.
I was shocked by the bad news which was issued in the next day's newspaper.25 lives were lost.What a terrible number!Series of questions were on my mind.What happened to the bus?How did the bus catch fire?Why did the bus whose capacity is only 45 carry 100 people Why couldn't the exits to the bus be opened And where were the hammers for emergence?
It seems that the people's awareness of public security is still poor,which maybe the main reason for the accident.Supposing that the bus had not carried so many people,or that the exits to the bus could have been opened easily,or all the hammers had been on the bus,the accident wouldn't have happened.The accident tells us again it is always of great importance to pay attention to the public security related to us all.
