Abstract -The War on Terror has used the most modern
military hardware in all United States history.As we move
into the future,the enemies of America are developing new
types of guns,bombs,tactics,and equipment.To counteract
this new hardware,the United States military has developed
many new technologies.One new technology,which will
make the lives of soldiers much safer,is the military robot.
Military Robots,otherwise known as UGVs (unmanned
ground vehicles) and UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles),can
perform job sranging from bomb disposal to taking
surveillance to firing on the enemy.The functions of the
robots are increasing with each passing day in hopes of
being able to develop full artificial intelligence.With an
onboard computer,highly developed programming,a
mechanically developed frame,and the ability to move
through rough terrain,these robots are able to perform
various missions that aid the military.This use of robots in
the military has proved to be a successful use of technology
and scientific ideas which will lead to the next generation of
warfare.

THE ROBOTS THAT AID THE UNITED STATES
MILITARY
In wars past,military men and women have fought in very
dangerous war zones which have produced high casualty
rates.Over the years,engineers have developed new
methods of warfare that prove to be safer for the soldiers.
Military robots otherwise known as,UGVs (unmanned
ground vehicles),UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles),and
USSVs (unmanned sea surface vehicles) are currently being
developed in the United States Military to help aid soldiers
in their tasks.A robot is defined as a machine that is
controlled in part or in whole by an onboard computer,and a
military robot is one that uses systems and enabling
technologies in the unstructured,outdoor environment that is
typical of military operations [1].Usually these robots are
used when a task is too dangerous,tedious,or dirty.
Military Robots can perform many dangerous functons.
UGVs are typically made of metal or plastic and have many
parts that work together to create fully operational and
autonomous machines.For more than twenty years the Army
has sponsored basic and advanced research of UGVs and
AGVs and has developed many successful robots that have
