C和D的区别在于是否使用虚拟语气,也就是这collection到底有没有用在投资产生利润上,若没有,选择were(虚拟),若有 选择was.
这题简单来看就是判定那句定语从句,interest income that would be generated.
这里用would be 的虚拟语气表示,这collections并没有当做capital去做别的invest,所以后文的interest income自然也就不存在,所以要用were做假设虚拟.

也可以从前文判断,这museum不把collection当做投资的capital,自然不会拿钱去乱花.
