It has always been a controversial topic that whether it is good for a university student to stay in school hostel. Some opponents, mostly parents, always argue that students may go astray if they stay in student hostel.
It is true to some extent. Most of the students have never left home in their middle school or high school study. Opponents believe that students may have a chance to lean bad habits, after they leave their parents. But one can never deny that students may also learn the strength of their peers. In my opinion, the adventages of staying in hostel outweigh the disadventages. First of all, students may get to know their campus faster comparing with those who are staying home. Staying in hostel also help students to develop their independent skills, they have to learn how to take care of themselves. In addition, staying in school hostel also trains students' communication ability as they need to spend more time to cooperate with their roommates and friends.
In conclusion, staying in school hostel may have a small possibility to make students go astry, but the adventages such as improvements in independent skills and communication ability outweigh the disventages. Hence staying in school hostal is good for a university student.
