1.what is the matter本身就是陈述语序,what”s the matter 或 what was the matter,表示“怎么啦”,语序相对固定.,宾语从句里要采用陈述语序.不管宾语从句是陈述句、一般疑问句或特殊疑问句,都要用陈述句语序,也就是说主谓次序不能颠倒.连接词＋主谓结构 两个例句：She wanted to know what was the matter.I could not understand what was the matter with me.上述例句摘自（张道真：现代英语用法词典） 2.hotel前面要用冠词的话我也这么觉得,但是我觉得确实要用where,因为后面宾语从句里stay是不及物的,要用stay in SP,所以前面的要用where.如果原句是Is this hotel ( )you said we were to stay in,注意这里有个in,那么就用what了,what在这里是宾语从句的主语.3.whether...or not...是固定用法,记住就可以了.
