Some universities require students to take classes in many subjects.Other universities require students to specialize in one
subject.Which is better?Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

When it comes to comparison of single subject and multi-subject in universities,there are always a host of different opinions held
by different people.Some people may argue that focusing on a single subject is benificial to students since the future career
requires the expertise.While I believe that the curriculums in universities still need to cover different disciplines.
First,in modern society,there are few areas which can stand alone without the assistance of other areas.For example,doctors in hospital cannot work without the company of computers,thus besides attending medical courses they should have at least some
shallow knwoledge of operating a computer when they are studying at university.Similarly,students whose major is business
should also have a knowledge of politics,since in order to achieve success in their future career,it is necessary for them to know the policies,as well as the skills to get on well with the government.
Second,students can also gain communication skills while attending different courses.It is a good way to understand the culture of other departments by attending their courses.For example,when studying with the students from other majors,we can make
new friends who have some different background,thus we will be inevitably infulenced by "multi-culture",which is of great
importance to a person with the hope of tailoring himself to be an all-round talent.From the perspective of the school,this will
consequently increase the interactions between different departments,which will contribute to the progress of the whole
university.
Admittedly,when we attend more than one classes,we should be clear which classes should be studied in depth and which
classes are only for understanding.After all,we will be only specialized in only one realm.The optional courses are mainly used to gain extra knowledge and release the pressure we get from the major courses.For example,students of science majors can select the courses about art,which is really a relaxation and can even inspire them in their major subjects.
All I have analyzed above boils down to the conclusion that if we want to fit to the modern society better,we should develop our
skills in different aspects,thus more than one subject should be considered.What's more,reasonable distribution of our energy
on different courses will make our life both substantial and colorful.
