Due to different family background, education,and living environment, there are various partents to their child/children. Generally speaking, there are three kinds of parent. They are conservative, liberal and middle-roader types.
It is possible that most of the parents are conservative. They try their best to provide the best conditions to their child. Furthermore, they intend to take the place of the child to find the solutions, especially when their child meet some problems difficult. They always worry about the child. Thus, it is not surprised that the father and mother with gray hair to help the young kids clean the windows of the school. They might suffer hard time when they were young. Therefore, they would not let that happen to the next generation again. However, without sufficent practice and furnance, how can a kid be mature in personality and character?
On the contrary, some parents are liberal. Most of them may be affected by the education from western countries. They prefer to provide their suggestions and advice to the child, but not replace the kid to face the problems. They are trying to provide more living and imagination space to the next generation. By this way, the children are able to think about the soultion by themselves. It is a process of anneal for their spirit. As ancient Chinese said, it is better to teach a person the manners of fishing, other than give out the fishes to this person directly.
Golden Mean (the course between extremes) is the spirit of traditional Chinese philosophy. Some of the parents would like to pursue the balance of Children growth. Sometimes, they could show their conservative aspsect, and sometimes they may teach their children how to face the difficulties and conquer it by themselves. However, it is not easy for these parents to help themselves to replace their children to solve the problems sometimes.
After all, the parents always want their next generation can have a better life and strong body and spirit on mind.
