the old/elderly 表示老年人
the unemployed 表示失业的人
与形容词相关还有这样两个情况
the + most + adj 表示最高级
the more,less ...,the more,less ...越...越...

她越想这事越沮丧
the + 名词
有三种情况
特指独一无二的
the first 第一个
the Nile 尼罗河
指代刚刚所提到的
A car hit a tree and the driver was killed.
the driver是指车里的那个司机
泛指
play the violin 拉小提琴
