Why do you study English?
With the fast development of our society and the frequencies of international communication and cooperation,having a good knowledge of English is a must in our daily life.But when asked why you study English,you have to think for a while carefully and then you will find some reasons as follows.
First,you must study English if you want to learn more about the world---even the small world around us,the city you are living in,for example.Walking in the busy street,you can see many shops,supermarkets,factories,companies named in both Chinese and English nearly everywhere,and some of the English words are so interesting that it's really hard for you not to remember them at the first sight.And when you see these words again,you will naturally know their meaning even without any Chinese characters.By and by,you will be able know much more about the world around you than others.
Second,learning English well can help you learn something advanced abroad quickly and directly.With a high English standard,you will be able to read foreign newspapers,magazines,books as well as many masterpieces.So you will posses much more information and learn much more of these materials than merely read their translated version--no matter how well they are translated,they will lose some of their pith.
Third,learning English well is a must during the schooling process in China.From primary school to junior middle school,from senior high school to college,you must learn English well to pass various examinations.If not,you will be badly influenced---maybe you will fail to enter a famous university
