It is required that from June 1, 2008 free plastic shopping bags shouldn’t be offered. Most malls and supermarkets are happy to obey the rule, but still some shops ignore. It is completely wrong. As we all know, plastic bags may fly with the wind and affect the environment. Animals eat them easily by mistake and die. When plastic bags are burning, they pollute the air. Some of them are poisonous, they are bad for our health. Food is easier to get bad if it is put into the plastic bags.
I think all the shops should stop offering free plastic bags. We should try to use cloth or paper bags instead of plastic ones when we are shopping. What’s more, whenever we see plastic bags on the ground, we should pick them up and put them into dustbins. If so, we are sure to make our city more beautiful.
