The Traffic Problems of Chengdu
There are some main reasons resulting in traffic jam of Chengdu during the rush hours. Firstly, the number of vehicles in the city is increasing in a surprising speed for more and more citizen have purchased or are going to buy their private cars. Secondly, the planning and layout for the municipal construction, especially for municipal roads is not completely reasonable. Such the structure and layout of city as making a large pancake will lead to more and more roads which are congested in downtown. Furthemore, illegal packing on the both sides of roads, unreasonable desigh for bus routes, being short of parking lots in main urban zones and so on are also the facters that make the problems become more and more worse.
Meanwhile, to the problems of traffic jam above, such solutions are suggested. First all, the Municipal government add the investment to improve the traffic facilities, to build more roads or to rebuild and expand the original ones. Then, the government should take measures to limit the number of private cars. Moreover, the drivers and the pedestrians should develop their good citizenship, form their civil awareness and accept the appropriate training and then obey the traffic laws and regulations.
All in all, we have the confidence in dealing with the traffic jams under the efforts of government and the citizens together.
