With a distinctive ethnic feature, a simple and honest local flavor and a rich vitality of life, the costumes and folk handicrafts of the She ethnic minority group has a strong artistic expression which is an integral part of the whole She culture. Cyanine blue is the major color of the traditional costumes of the She ethnic group, the materials used are mostly home made ramie fabrics, and there are multiple styles of the costumes due to their different regions of residence, with varied designs and distinct layers.

The research objective of this thesis is to understand the She culture extensively by conducting meticulous investigations and studies of its costumes and craftsmanship, so as to provide a systematic understanding of the brilliant culture of the She ethnic group, and a relatively comprehensive recognition of their costumes and traditional handcraftsmanship. In this research, the author adopts the methods of literature collections, on-site surveys, She folk interviews, factory study tours, etc. to conduct systematic analysis, description and integration on both the aspects of the costume culture and the various ancient handcraftsmanship of the She ethnic group, so that their ancient culture can be preserved and the craftsmanship continues to go around.
