Nowadays the media are covering things like overwork really much. As people value their health more than before, this topic is catching the attention of the public. I also feel like saying something over this.
First, nobody really wants to overwork I guess. However sometimes it is just not up to ourselves. Most people are just regular guys working in an office, making their salary. In this economy, most people's jobs are easily replaceable. Every time somebody has a problem with his extra work, he is fired. In addition, there are some jobs that require people to overwork occasionally, like doctors or police officers. Usually you cannot complain about your extra work because that is kind of, like, not really extra. As I believe, most of us would agree that those guys deserve their spare time like everybody else.
However, when it comes to health, nothing seems more important. You do not make many to pay for the bills when you are sick in bed. You work because you support your family and you want to enjoy this life. How could a sick person provide for his family and play with his children? Health is like a credit card. When you sacrificed, you are going to pay; and probably you are going to pay more than you have got. As for those people with special duties, I really respect them. I can only hope that our government provide more budgets and get more people in those section, because their health matters, also.
Long in short, you should stop overworking when you can. In case you cannot, well, remember life is hard and take care :·)
