During alternate argon arc welding,the current is continuously alternating between positive and negative directions.When the current flows from tungsten pin to the welded object,it is positive flow time,at this moment,the heat on the tungsten pin is not very hot but concentrated,suitable for welding.When current flows from the welded object to tungsten pin,it is negative flow time,at this moment,the oxide layer on the surface will be cleared,helping to achieve a good welding effect; however,the tungsten pin will be easily burnt due to over-heating.This knob is to regulate the positive / negative flow time; when the knob is at the “20%” position,both flow times is 20% each; when the knob is at the “80%” position,the positive flow time is 80%.(Note:use smaller duty ratio when the current is strong; e.g.set the duty ratio below 30% when the current is 200A and above,use bigger duty ratio when the current is low,e.g.set the duty ratio above 50% when the current is below 100V.)
