I used to have hoop dreams…
It had been a while,as far as I could remember.
There was strong,unbreakable bond among
The basket,the ball,and me.
Have you seen a stage
Without props,curtains,or actors?
Deep at night,that bound
Arrives,conquers,and rules in my mind.
From a distance far away,
I heard the pounding of the ball
On the gym floor.
Which satisfied my hunger.
My heart pounded with it and
My mind is counting along it
1,2,3… 1,2,3…
The sound was getting louder,
As I stepped out of the darkness
Into the limelight.
Then there was a flash ahead
And suddenly the pounding stopped.
I saw a light,break free
From the darkness ahead.
There is that familiar face
A face of a teammate and a friend,
Of someone I can trust with all my heart.
Here I am,the dedicated mailman
Whose deliveries had always been accurate and punctual.
From there,I turned around,stepping out of the limelight.
There is no reason to look behind,
It was his time to shine.
The entire place suddenly got quiet.
Then I heard a rain drop’s landing,
I could almost see the ripple in the net.
The final buzzer sounded
And the crowd went wild.
The bond became stronger,
Because my teammates,our fans
had become a part of the indestructible bond.
