One of my friends was having a class in Sichuan University when the killer earthquake occurred.She told me that she was scared to death when the building was shaking and a large chunk of stone fell from the ceiling.Fortunately,my friend wasn’t injured and she went back home to Guangzhou last week.However,when I read the newspapers,looking at those related pictures,I could no longer hold my tears.I saw the courage,selflessness and faith of our Chinese people.The disaster killed life,but it would never never break the character,dignity and humanity of us.
Langzheng,a three year old boy,was rescued after 10 hours.While the police was transferring him to a save place,he raised his wounded right hand difficultly and make a standard young pioneer solute to thank the people who rescued him.
Wu zhonghong,a teacher of huaiyuan middle school,went back to the dangerous classroom to rescure two scared students without second thought.The student was saved while he remained in the debris forever.
Jing lijie,a firefighter,cried out,“ I know it’s dangerous,I know I may never come back if I went go in,but please,please let me rescue one more,I can save one more!” When there is a aftershock and all the rescue teams were ordered to evacuate,he asked fo staying at hearing a voice of a little boy.In 60 hours of continues rescue effort,Jing lijie saved at least 300 people.
I can still remember that there was a time when we doubt about our character.Just before the earthquake,a famous writer Bo yang passed away.His work the flaws of Chinese people made many of us embarrassly question about our spirits.Are we really dirty,chaotic and noisy?Are we really disunited and selfish?
Seeing the act of us when facing the earthquake,we can definitely give an answer :no.The great morality of the teachers’,the enduring love of mothers’ and the selflessnes of the charity events’,all of which showed the great spirits of our Chinese people.When people supporting people it depicts a word,a Chinese word—human.
