题目:Some people believe the function of a building is more important than its exterior.To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
The construction of urbanization is advancing at a staggering speed in this day and age. A vast number of structures have been emerging in the urban area.However, some people think we should focus on the practicability of a building rather than its appearance.Personally,I agree with their view,but I would quality it to some extent.
It is manifest that the development of modern cities,both in population size and in functionality,necessitates the construction of multi-functional high-rise buildings.To start with, given that almost all the present-day cities are already packed with places of residence,commerce and recreation and the land available for the further development of cities is increasingly scarce,new construction must b proposed and carried out to accommodate the markedly-increasing urban population.Therefore,real estate developers should be encouraged to build more skyscrapers which are best characterized by more compact and land-saving.Further,modern building with various functions can meet the requirements of contemporary urban life that is characterized by its dynamism and convenience.Specifically,modern structures play a significant role in affording people amusement and entertainment,thereby relaxing their bodies and easing their mind.Last but not least,there is a definite link between economic growth and the proliferation of multi-functional buildings.More precisely,demand for a multitude of building equipments and facilities such as water and power suppy,drainage system,central heating system in house construction creates a huge market for the local and international businesses,which in turn increase demand for the labor market.
Admittedly,handsome housing may bring about some advantages.It is obvious that structures which have esthetic value would beautify the cityscape and demonstrate the superior craftsmanship of architects vividly.But overall,in this economy era,the utilitarian value of buildings has prevailed over the esthetic value.
To conclue,I am convinced that the government should encourage the real estate developers to build more functional stuctures rather than just good-looking housing,which is a wise and foresight policy to support economic growth and advance technology development and it also contribute to the preservaion of scarce land resources.
