九寨沟以绝天下的原始、神秘气氛而闻名.传说很久很久以前,神勇的山神达戈热恋着美丽的女神沃莫色莫,达戈用风云磨成一面宝镜送于色莫,而色莫不慎将此宝镜跌为108个碎片,化作108个海子（高原湖泊）,从而成为九寨沟最美丽的108个景观.这里雪峰玉立,青山流水,交相辉映,这里的瀑布、溪流更是迷人,如飞珠撒玉,异常雄伟秀丽.

Jiuzhaigou is located in the upper reaches of Minjiang River ,administered by Nanping County,Abazhou City.It is named after the nine Tibetan villages:Panxin,Pengbu,Gugui,Panyazechagui,Heijiao Zhai,Shuzheng,Heye,and Zaru etc.According to "Nanping County History"’s record:"In Yangdongfan,the Strait is a few kilometers long,the river shows emerald green,which reflects the beautiful trees on the river bank." Therefore,this place is named Yangdong,but also known as Jade Sea.In 1982,it was approved as a national key scenic spots by the State Council,and was officially approved to be listed on UNESCO World Natural Heritage List in December 14,1992.
Jiuzhaigou has always been famous for its unique environment fulfilled with primitive,mysterious atmosphere.Once upon a time,there was a brave and strong god of the mountains,named Dage,fell in love with a beautiful goodness Womosemo.Dage gave Semo a great self-made mirror made of wind and cloud,but it was broken into 108 pieces and turned into 108 sons of sea (highland lakes),thus became the 108 most beautiful scenes in Jiuzhaigou.Here in Jiuzhaigou,the mountains are snowish white,the green mountains and flowing rivers ,waterfalls and streams are even more attractive,the waterfalls looks like pearls falling from the sky,leaving humans endless admires on its magnificent beauty.
