Abstract
In the early morning of April 14th 2010, Yushu, a County of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous District of Qinghai Province, was attacked by an earthquake of 7.1 on the Richter Scale. After the woes, legions of supporting goods and materials were continuously transported into the disaster area, relieving and revitalizing this ever-unknown but abundant-with-culture land. Samuel P. Huntington has ever had comments on the position of culture in secular world, "Conservatively speaking, the essence of truth lies in what is decisive to the success of a society is culture, but not politics; open-mindedly speaking, the essence is that politics may change culture, and in turn prevents culture from stepping back". The State Council has in a standing conference about recovering and rebuilding Yushu also pointed out that "we should unswervingly be people-oriented, take the people's livelihood as priority, and respect the culture, custom and religious belief irrespective of nationalities". Thereby, the stress of this after-disaster rebuilding project is to thoroughly consider the local religions and religious beliefs, in order to keep religious culture vitalizing and resume culture activities, which are expected to positively influence the future development of Yushu District.
