Mary:I agree.There is less tolerance in society today.
John:Why do you think that is?
Mary:I think the pace of change in society has quickened.People have less patience when things are not to their liking.
John:Can we do anything to lesson violence in society?
Mary:There is no quick and easy solution.People need to understand that violence only leads to more violence.
John:There is an old saying:Live and let live.How do we get people to practise that?
Mary:It starts at the home and the school.From a very young age children should be taught to respect views that are different from theirs.As parents and teachers we also should set good examples.
